Sense and Sensibility (and Socks)

Okay. I'll admit it. I've never read any of the works by Jane Austen. But that is changing after today. I begin with Sense and Sensibility.

And if you know me, you know there's more. I've also joined the Jane Austen Yarn Club. The first project is the Sense and Sensibility Sock, pictured here. I'll be combining two of my favorite pastimes--knitting and reading.

I am so glad that you are correcting this horrible lack in your life. I'm not sure that S/S is the best Austen to start with, and you must remember that JA is often satirical while true. I think that JA is universal, so perhaps after reading her you would be interested in doing a version in a Native American setting. She has been adapted across many cultures and in many forms, not unlike Shakespeare.
